Our origin

From a research desk to a small academy.

Mghairsbeauty was founded in 2016 by a group of seven analysts and lecturers who shared an office on the eighteenth floor of a Midtown building. We had each spent years inside investment-research teams and university programs, and we kept noticing the same problem: most retail-facing trading education was either marketing material in disguise or a re-packaging of speculation as fact.

We started by writing weekly reading notes for friends. Within two years those notes had become a full 14-week curriculum, then a small registered education provider, and eventually the Academy you are reading about today.

What we teach — and what we refuse to teach.

These four commitments sit at the top of every syllabus. They are non-negotiable.

Principle 01

Evidence over opinion

Every claim our faculty makes in a lecture is sourced. Every dataset is documented. Students learn to ask "how do we know?" before "what should we do?".

Principle 02

Risk before reward

Position sizing, drawdown analysis, and scenario modeling are introduced before any pattern recognition. The cost of being wrong is taught first.

Principle 03

No signals, ever

We do not provide buy/sell calls, copy-trading, or "guaranteed" outcomes. Our role is education, not advisory. This is also a regulatory line we will not cross.

Principle 04

Plain language

If we cannot explain a concept to a thoughtful adult without jargon, we do not yet understand it well enough to teach it.

The Academy operates from a single office on Fifth Avenue, in the Flatiron / NoMad area of New York City. Lectures are delivered in a hybrid format: small in-person seminar groups for local learners, and synchronous online cohorts for students elsewhere in the United States.

We chose New York deliberately. Most of our faculty came up through the city's research desks and university programs, and the proximity to listing venues, regulators, and primary sources is part of what we offer to learners.
